🌾 Our Story

About KissanKhata

A simple account book for every Indian farmer — so you always know exactly 'kitna bacha?'

🎯 Our mission

Help every Indian farmer keep a clear, honest record of income and expenses — in their own language — so they can see where money goes, plan better seasons, and grow their savings with confidence.

Who we are

KissanKhata is a digital khata (account book) made for Indian farmers. We started with a simple observation: farmers work incredibly hard, but the money side — dairy income, crop sales, seeds, fertilizer, labour, household spends — is often scattered across notebooks, memory, and paper bills. At the end of the season it's hard to answer one question: how much did I actually save?

So we built a simple, multilingual app that makes record-keeping as natural as jotting a note — and then does the maths for you. It works in Hindi, Marathi, and English, so farmers anywhere in India can use it in the language they're most comfortable with.

What KissanKhata does

With KissanKhata, a farmer can:

  • Track crop and season lifecycles from sowing to sale.
  • Record milk, vegetable, wage, livestock, tractor, and other income sources.
  • Separate farm expenses from household spends.
  • Scan bills and crop photos with AI to auto-fill entries.
  • See a single “kitna bacha” savings dashboard — in Hindi, Marathi, or English.

Farmer-first, always

Every screen is designed for a real farmer's day — simple words, big buttons, and Hindi, Marathi, and English side by side.

Works offline

Fields don't always have signal. KissanKhata saves everything on your phone first and syncs securely when you are back online.

🔒

Your data stays yours

We never sell your personal data and our team will never ask for your OTP. You can export or delete your records anytime.

AI that helps, not confuses

Snap a fertilizer bill or a diseased leaf — Google Gemini AI reads it and fills the details, in your language.

Who it's for

KissanKhata is built for small and medium farmers across India — dairy farmers, vegetable growers, and households juggling farm and home budgets. It works in Hindi, Marathi, and English, so language is never a barrier to keeping good records.

Where we are today

KissanKhata is in an early pilot. While the app is made for farmers all over India, we are launching first in Maharashtra so we can work closely with our earliest users before expanding to more states. New users get a 6-month free trial with full access.

We are actively listening to farmers and improving the app every week — your feedback directly shapes what we build next.
